Prof. Akoh Gives Monetary Support to Parents of Quadruplets and Twin….
The Catholic Diocese of Otukpo has honoured the National Commandant of Peace Corps of Nigeria with her Centenary Award for his enormous contributions (Spiritual/Material) to the growth of the Catholic Diocese.
The award was presented at the occasion of the one hundred years of existence of the Catholic Diocese.
Presenting the award to Prof. Akoh on behalf of His Lordship, Bishop Michael Apochi, Very Rev. Fr. Anthony Ochojila said that the award became necessary because of the continuous support that the Oyachaba K’Idoma give to the church, Fr. Ochojila asked the Lord to continue to bless and keep Prof. Akoh so that he will continue with his good work to humanity.
He applauded Prof. Akoh for the milestone achievement of building a befitting church of God for the people of the community, urging other leaders in Idoma land to emulate his philanthropic lifestyle of service to God and humanity.
On his part, Prof. Dickson Akoh thanked the diocese for the honour/recognition and promised to continue to do more for the church of God and humanity as such is part of his nature and the very reason for his existence.
The award which was presented to the Peace Corps of Nigeria National Commandant was witnessed by parishioners of the Holy Family Catholic Church, Ogoli-Ugboju.
Highlight of event was the donation and support by Prof Akoh to a family of Quadruplets who were brought to the church for thanksgiving and to another family of twin for their upkeep as he stated that children are gift from the Lord and so should be properly taken care of.
Rev. Sis Martha Alih while appreciating Prof. Akoh for the kind gesture on behalf of the benefiting families, pray God to continue to shower him with blessings. Sis. Martha as a token of appreciation presented a blessed holy rosary directly from Rome to Prof. Dickson Akoh as she prayed for continuous protection over his life.
