NIS, NPF, And NAPTIP collaborates to end Trafficking of Persons and Smuggling of Migrants.

The Comptroller General Of Nigeria Immigration Service, Idris Isa Jere has inaugurated a National Joint Intelligence And Investigation Committee to prevent the trafficking of persons and Smuggling of Migrants into the country.

Deputy Comptroller General, Wuraola Adepoju who represented the CGIS at the inauguration also signed the Working Agreement Terms of Reference between the Nigeria Immigration Service, NAPTIP and The Nigeria Police Force.

While urging the fourteen man committee to work in synergy to achieve a positive result, the deputy Comptroller reiterated that the Nigeria Immigration Service will continue to give it’s undivided support to the committee to ensure trafficking of persons and Smuggling of Migrants is totally abolished.

Speaking at the event which held recently in Abuja, the Commissioner of Police in charge of human trafficking, Kola Afolabi who represented the Inspector General of Police advised the committee to adhere strictly by the terms of reference and working agreement while carrying out this National assignment.

The National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons while advising the committee to work as a team warned perpetrators to desist from the act of trafficking of persons and Smuggling of Migrants as there won’t be any hiding place for them in the society and adequate violators will face the full wrath of the law.

The Comptroller of Immigration, Migration Unit, GC Didel who chaired the committee promised that the committee will put in their expertise while obeying the terms of reference and working agreements in carrying out this national assignments.
