By Nigeria Halts Third-Party Visa Processing in United States
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced the immediate disengagement of Online Integrated Solution (OIS Services), the operator of Nigeria’s Visa Application and Submission Centres in the United States, from the collection and submission of visa applications on behalf of Nigerian diplomatic missions.
In a Press Release signed by the NIS Service Public Relations Officer, Deputy Comptroller of Immigration, Akinsola Akinlabi, on behalf of the Service on Thursday, informing prospective travelers and Nigerians residing in the United States of the new visa application process.
Akinlabi notes that, all applicants seeking Nigerian visas must henceforth submit their applications directly at the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington, D.C., or at the country’s Consulates in New York and Atlanta until further notice.
“The Nigeria Immigration Service hereby informs the general public, particularly prospective travelers and Nigerians residing in the United States of America who may require a visa to enter Nigeria, that Online Integrated Solution, OIS Services, has officially been disengaged from the collection and submission of visa applications on behalf of the Nigerian Mission, effective immediately,” he stated.
The Service assured applicants that the Nigerian Embassy and Consulates have put adequate measures in place to ensure the seamless submission, processing and issuance of visas despite the transition.
It also advised visa applicants to monitor official communication channels of the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Nigerian Mission in the United States for updates on visa application procedures.
“The Nigeria Immigration Service assures the public that the Embassy and the Consulates have put adequate measures in place to ensure seamless submission, processing, and issuance of visas,” the statement added.
The immigration agency expressed appreciation for the understanding and cooperation of applicants, reiterating its commitment to efficient service delivery.
