The National Commandant, Peace Corps of Nigeria, Dr Dickson Akoh have said this year’s Sallah celebration should serve as a period for sober reflection.
He made this call in Abuja while felicitating with Muslims on the occasion of the Eid-el-kabir celebration.
Dr Akoh said Muslims should imbibe the spirit of oneness, altruistic and arms giving.
For Muslims all over the world, this celebration is to commemorate the trails and triumph of Prophet Ibrahim
Dr Akoh added that, “today should serve as a day of rejoicing and bliss, a day of blessing and peace, a day to reflect and ponder hence, people all over should always preach peace, live in peace, tolerate one another, as well as show love to one another as that would promote unity, peace and progress in our dear country Nigeria”.
Dr Akoh said, “he believe that our country can make rapid progress in all forms if we re-enact the exemplary virtues, epitomized by Prophet Ibrahim through his sacrifice, Patience, Generosity, Steadfastness as well as obedience to the command of the Almighty”.
He stressed that; “we must learn to see ourselves as brothers so as to promote the motto of our Coat of Arms which is; Unity and Faith, Peace and Progress”.
While urging all to adhere to the government set rules of mitigating the continuous spread of the corona virus, Dr Akoh urged Nigerians most especially the Muslims not to feel bad as a result of the restrictions on places of worship caused by the current pandemic that is ravaging the world today, he said it is imperative for people all over to continue to stay safe at all times.
