UZODINMA REASSURES AWOMAMMA LEADERS OF HIS RESOLVE TO DEVELOP THE TOWN AGAINST ALL ODDS

earlier today, the imo state governor, senator Hope Uzodinma attended mass at Holy Trinity catholic church maitama Abuja, in company of some prominent imo indigenes which included his Special Adviser on Diaspora Affairs, Elder Aloy Nnawugo and the FCT Controller of Immigration, Chief Tony Akuneme.
Governor later hosted the two prominent Awomamma indigenes to lunch in his residence where he thanked Awomamma people for their continued support and pledged to do everything in his power to change the face of the community despite the odds.
The Governor said that he will re award the contract for the Awomamma Okwudor road which was his first road project upon assumption of office in 2020 which was truncated twice due to the kidnapping of the contractors. He vowed to give the road to foreign contractors that did Orlu Owerri Road (Craneburg) as no local contractor was willing to come to the area for fear of the safety of their staff. The Governor lamented that the two Previous contractors who abandoned the road, cost him about 750 million naira in deposits paid to the contractors.
Upon further engagement by the two Awomamma leaders, Governor Uzodinma Said the new ADF skill acquisition center will be equipped with vocational training materials while the Mother and child specialist hospital he is already building inside the Awomamma Community Hospital will be named after Dr B U Nzeribe.
He lamented the huge cost of delays and distraction caused by insecurity in the state especially in his own local government area, but promised that his second tenure will pay more attention to development of rural areas. He also hinted that the old Orlu master plan will be reactivated immediately.
