INCREASE SECURITY AWARENESS DURING THE ELECTION PERIOD-NIS BOSS ADMONISHES OFFICERS AND MEN.
The Comptroller General, Nigeria Immigration Service, CGIS, Isah Jere Idris MFR has charged all Officers and Men of the Service to review the Role of the NIS in the 2023 General election.
This was made known during a Zoom meeting held with all Zonal Coordinators and Command Comptrollers across the country
CGIS Jere stressed the need for Comptrollers to cascade the necessary information to their personnel, urging them to see the election duties primarily as a call to national service with or without additional remuneration.
The CGIS however emphasized that he had
already approved the payment of the two election allowances to all those who participated and even went ahead to approve some stipends for all other personnel in all commands who did not participate in election duties but were equally on duty at various formations on election days.
The CGIS further charged Heads of formations to ensure officers and men under their supervision were properly briefed on the issue of their election allowances which will soon hit their respective accounts.
Members of the NIS management team were equally in attendance and took turns to admonish the personnel on the need to comport themselves properly at their duty posts and be security conscious.
